The XX Genome Center was established by the Food and Health Bureau in May 2020 as a private company limited by guarantee and wholly owned by the local Government. XX Genome Center carries the mission of implementing the “City Genome Project", and is committed to promoting the development of genomic medicine in local City, so that patients can benefit from more accurate diagnosis and more personalized treatment, and strengthen disease prevention and control.
This project is the first large-scale genome sequencing project in XX City. It acts as a catalyst to promote the clinical application of local genomic medicine. By establishing a local population genome database, testing facilities and talent pool, it will benefit patients and their families. In order to promote the research in related fields and promote the development of medicine in XX city which will meet the needs of future medical services.
